BookingToolHub helps small business owners find the right appointment scheduling software for their specific type of business — whether you run a barbershop, a dental clinic, a financial advisory practice, or any other service-based business that relies on bookings.
What We Do
The scheduling software market is crowded. Dozens of tools promise to solve the same problem, but each one is actually built for a slightly different type of business. We compare tools like Setmore, Acuity Scheduling, Calendly, GlossGenius, Vagaro, and others side by side, focused on real-world use cases rather than generic feature lists.
How We Actually Research Each Comparison
Before writing any comparison, we check what’s currently ranking for that specific search — what existing content covers, and just as importantly, what it leaves out. We then verify pricing, free-plan limits, and key features directly on each provider’s own website rather than relying on secondhand summaries, since SaaS pricing changes often enough that older articles frequently list outdated numbers.
When sources disagree on a price or feature — which happens more often than you’d expect — we say so directly in the article rather than picking one number and presenting it as certain. A few examples from our own research: Fresha removed its free plan in 2025, but some comparison sites still list it as free; several sources report conflicting prices for Square Appointments’ Plus tier and for Jobber’s entry plan. Where we’ve found this kind of discrepancy, we note it and point readers to verify the current rate directly with the provider before deciding.
For business types where we found that general scheduling tools genuinely aren’t the right fit — like veterinary clinics or physical therapy practices, which are better served by specialized clinical software — we say that too, rather than forcing a recommendation that wouldn’t actually help.
How We Make Money
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up for a product through one of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which product we recommend — our comparisons are based on the research process described above, not on which program pays the highest commission. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.
